Art Editions YAYOI KUSAMA
“Dots Obsession, Full Happiness with Dots”

You can see a mysterious box covered with white dots on a red background and a maze scope extending from a side wall of the box. As you look inside, the world of dots—a signature motif of Kusama’s works—expands infinitely. The dots, which continue to multiply by means of the mirror placed in the box, overwhelm you when you peer inside, creating the strange sensation that you might not even know where you are anymore.

From her youth to the present day, Yayoi Kusama has vigorously pursued a life of creativity. When she moved to the U.S. on her own to focus on creating artwork during the 1960s, she produced many works that deeply reflected gender issues and the social message of the anti-war movement. Kusuma’s representative work at the time “Dots Obsession, Full Happiness with Dots” has beautifully recreated the world of “Infinity Mirror Room-Phalli’s Field ( or Floor Show)” As you open the box, you find a mobile phone buried amid a crowd of dots. In the box, the mobile phone loses itself amid the dots, but once you hold it in your hand it starts to unleash its unique presence and energy. This work of art is full of wonder, whether you see it as an artwork or use it as a mobile phone.

Set includes mobile phone, objet d’art and strap.
Limited edition of 100 sets. Edition number included on mobile phone and objet ‘art. Objet ‘art is also autographed by Yayoi Kusama.
